Warehouse Co. - 1001XX 15th Anniversary Model

This year Warehouse is celebrating their 15th Anniversary with a series of special limited items starting with the 1001XX 15th Model. The 1001XX debuted in 1995 and was a testament to how serious Warehouse took the task of vintage denim jean reproduction. Piles of rare dead stock jeans were sifted through and dismantled to analyze the denim yarns and fiber content, unraveling the yarns to examine the nature in which they were spun and their irregularities. Old American made sewing machines were collected, in most cases needing repair and overhauling, and then tweaked to match the vintage jeans stitch detailing and characteristics. With the 1001XX they set out to create a jean that would look, feel, and wear like an old dead stock pair of jeans going as far as to create an oxidization process that aged the newly woven denim to give it similar characteristics.
They considered the finished product not an imitation but rather an evolution in Japanese craftsmanship and garment production with an influence rooted in the old ways of American denim jeans manufacturing. The legendary Warehouse 1001XX are now available again in this limited edition 15th Anniversary Model. More details and information here

The Real McCoy's - Joe McCoy & Co.

After a 10 year hiatus The Real McCoy's have revamped their casual wear brand Joe McCoy & Co reintroducing the Lot 900 series of indigo jeans and wide range of outerwear pieces inspired by American work clothes and sports wear of the late-1800's up through the mid-1980's.

For this years collection we started with a small assortment including the Lot 906 World Standard Jean, a mid-rise slim straight leg cut in Joe McCoy's super dark 14.75oz original selvage denim. The 8 Hour Serviceman Shirt in lightweight chambray, purposely woven with uneven threads for a subtle slubby texture. A 10oz special weave loop wheeler crew neck and hooded sweatshirt, and a long sleeve Union Shirt with buttoned placket. We'll be gradually expanding the Joe McCoy collection over time with each season. More information and product details here.

Pure Blue Japan NC-005 No Fade Jeans

The NC-005 (No Change-005) is a new style recently introduced by Pure Blue Japan that features a cotton selvage denim with the unique characteristic of retaining it's deep Blue color through repeated wash and wear while resisting the color fading their jeans are usually known for. This was thought to be useful for those who would prefer to have at least a single pair of jeans they could wear often but that could also act as a still-dark denim jean when the occasion called for it. More information and details about the new NC-005 below and here. The warp yarns of the NC-005 denim are dyed using Indanthrene which is a water-insoluble dye stuff that retains its color with repeated washing, wear and distress, exposure to sunlight, and in most cases is even resistant to acids and chlorine bleach. Indanthrene dye is commonly used in Military uniforms due to it's high degree of color fasting and it's ability to withstand extreme exposure to the roughest of weather. The NC-005 denim looks almost identical in color and shares the same weave and slubby texture of PBJ's indigo dyed XX-005 denim. Over time the NC-005 denim will still show slight signs of color falling and distress as the cotton wears thin but will not break down to the light shades of blue and white seen with the XX-005 denim. Below are examples of the NC-005 and XX-005 denims after machine washing 30 times with detergents and run over with coarse sand paper.
